Born in 1955 in Hangzhou, China, Gao Quanqiang began to learn painting and calligraphy at seven years old through his father’s enlightenment.
Gao Quanqiang studied at Hangzhou Arts and Crafts School and China Academy of Fine Arts. Since then, the artist has been engaged in artistic creation and art design work; he has worked with major institutions to provide brand art design services and has won a number of awards. In 2004, Quanqiang was named “China’s Top Ten CI Design Experts” by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China.
Gao Quanqiang has taught at the China Academy of Fine Arts since 1991 and has been engaged in teaching professional painting. The artist has held more than 10 art exhibitions and his paintings have also been published in a number of Chinese journals. So far, seven personal picture books have been published. In 2003, he was incorporated into the list of famous Chinese contemporary calligraphy and painting with his paintings being recognized and collected by many celebrities and a number of galleries and museums in China. Quanqiang is an outstanding artist who has gone from naturalism to romanticism.
The artist currently resides in the United States.
